Banashankari Temple land turns into a garbage heap

A lot of garbage is dumped regularly on the footpath and a plot that belongs to Banashankari Temple at 7th Cross, Kaderanahalli Cross, Banashankari 2nd Stage near Kumaraswamy Layout.
A BM reader said “This has been happening for around two years. Every day, employees of the civic body come and dump the collected garbage here. Many of the residents have suffered from several diseases due to contamination from the garbage.”
“When it rains, the road becomes difficult to navigate through as the slush spills over. Also, it is a real health hazard to residents and people who come to the nearby Indira Canteen at Ward 180.”
“We complained about this so many times to the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) and even to our corporator. But nobody shows the slightest interest in cleaning the place,” he adds.
Residents want the BBMP to remove the garbage and take steps to ensure that the neighbourhood is rid of the stench and mess.
